About

A consultancy that uses what it sells.

We are not describing something we read about. The firm runs its own operations on the same kind of system it builds for clients, and it has run that way in production for years.

The firm

Gulf Digital is an independent AI consulting firm based in Southwest Florida, working with organizations anywhere. We help organizations put AI to work on their operations. That means three things, in order: capturing the knowledge the organization runs on, deploying AI on real workflows, and keeping the system current as things change.

Most firms in this market sell the middle step and skip the first one. That is why so little of it sticks. AI cannot use knowledge that lives only in people's heads and scattered inboxes, so the writing down comes first and the building comes after.

We use what we sell. The firm's own operations run on the same kind of system we build for clients, in production, every day, for years. When we tell you what breaks and what holds up, it is because we have been running it ourselves.

How we work

01 / HONESTY

Skeptical by trade

We will say plainly what AI cannot do for your organization. There is a great deal of it, and a consultant who will not name any of it is selling you something. Every engagement is scoped so you can stop at any stage and keep what was built.

02 / CLARITY

Plain language

If a recommendation cannot be explained to the owner in one sitting, it is not ready. No jargon, no demos that only work on the demo, no architecture diagrams standing in for a decision.

03 / INDEPENDENCE

Built for independence

Everything is documented and everything is owned by the client, including the parts you would need in order to replace us. A client who leaves should be more capable than when they arrived, not stranded.

Background

Gulf Digital was founded by Akram Ayyash, a finance executive with nearly two decades spanning Wall Street and corporate finance, from trading and financing desks at global institutions to running treasury at a technology company. He is also an adjunct professor of finance at Florida Gulf Coast University.

He is AI-fluent in the practical sense rather than the conference-panel sense. He has been building with AI since ChatGPT launched, and he designs, runs and maintains production AI systems daily, including the ones that run this firm.

The firm works with a small network of senior engineers and operators as engagements require.

If you want a grounded read on what AI can and cannot do for your organization, start with a conversation. It is free and takes half an hour.
